125. Paper Cuts

Amy decides to dodge the cards. She runs to her left as fast as she can.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! As she runs cards keep embedding themselves in books right behind her, leaving a trail of the cards as she runs. Eventually, though, she runs into a wall. She turns and looks in horror at the librarian.

Thwip! Thwip! Two cards embed themselves in the shoulders of her t-shirt and the books behind her, pinning her to the wall! The Librarian gets an evil grin on his face as he pulls out another stack of cards.

“C-c-can’t we be reasonable about this? I’m really sorry for disturbing you. If you’ll let me go I’ll just leave quietly and-”

“SHHHHHHHHH!”

Like a Vegas dealer dealing out poker cards, he begins flicking the razor-sharp cardstock toward Amy, starting low and gradually moving upward.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!

The cards slice through Amy, starting from her feet, working their way up her legs, her arms and torso, then her neck and head. Amy tries to move, only to fly into a hundred thin, flat pieces, each one wafting in a different direction. Amy has been sliced to the width of paper, and winds up in a heap on the floor. Looks like if Amy wants to continue her adventure she’ll need a helpful wind to blow her in Shannon’s direction!

Amy is in no condition to continue this adventure or her life.
