132. Return to the Library
Amy decides to head to the library. Even if she can't find anything useful, maybe a good read will calm her down and prepare her for the next stop in this parade of horrors. She finds the library just as messy as she left it. Picking a pile at random, she begins idly leafing through the books, searching for anything that might be interesting.
Among the pile she finds a big colorful hard-bound volume. It has a tattered dust jacket, but the jacket is brightly colored and appears new. It depicts a pneumatic blonde in a skimpy blue-and-red costume, smiling and flexing her muscles. The title reads “The Daring New Adventures of Stupendous Girl!” The glossy pages give off a faint glow.
Amy secretly enjoys reading superhero comics, despite their sometimes cliché stories and less-than-stellar record on women's issues. Also, she's a sucker for girl heroes.
“This should be a quick read!” she thinks, preparing to settle down. Then she feels a twinge of guilt, “But maybe I should get back to finding Shannon...”
What should Amy do?
