207. Back in the Sitting Room

Amy picks the sitting room for her next destination. “Hopefully I'll find SOMETHING useful in all that mess!” To her simultaneous annoyance and utter lack of surprise, the sitting room is just as messy as she left it, with debris scattered all over the floor from the fight that occurred here earlier.

Amy decides to look at the various unharmed display cases that sit at the far edge of the room. Her interest is piqued by a case labeled “Antebellum Americana.” Inside are a number of interesting artifacts, including a pair of dueling pistols, a cap worn by a soldier in the Mexican-American War, and a cane, broken in two, with a solid gold head.

There's a plaque identifying the cane, but it's so covered in dust that Amy can't read it. Does she dare open the case and remove the cane to get a better look at it?

What should Amy do?
