215. Inside-Out Girl
Amy decides to press her advantage and charge the old man. She begins running from the fireplace. A large sofa lies between her and her assailant. She hurdles over it and lands on her knees, leaning forward to reach for the gun, only to find herself face-to-jowl with the old man. A sharp pain burns in her gut. She looks down and discovers that she has been impaled on a machete that the old man holds in his hand. With a sick grin he twists the long knife, sending Amy’s guts spilling onto the floor.
“Huh,” thinks Amy as she drifts into unconsciousness, “So that’s what my insides look like.”
Amy is in no condition to continue this adventure or her life
