22. The Servants’ Quarters
Amy makes her way around the house and finds that the path leads to a ramshackle little lean-to attached to the side of the mansion. Amy decides this must be the servant’s quarters. She cautiously walks up to the door and reaches out to push it open. The little shack is filled with cobwebs. Embers burn in a fire place, providing a gloomy light. Somebody has been here recently. In the corner stands a rickety wooden kitchen table, on which stands a stoppered bottle. Next to the bottle sits a heavy metal key ring laden with keys. Clothes and assorted personal effects lie scattered haphazardly on the floor. From the looks of it, there are both men’s and women’s clothing. Perhaps a couple live here.
