230. What a Mess!
Amy runs to the rope and begins fiddling with the knot. The thing was tied in some configuration an order of magnitude more complex than Amy had ever seen before. She silently cursed her parents for never enrolling her in Girl Scouts, where she might have learned the knot tying-and-untying skills that would have served her so well right now. Behind her she can hear the man stumbling to his feet. She looks back for half a second. He is shaking his head out and bending down to grab his gun. Only a few seconds more! Amy redoubles her efforts, beginning to become frantic. The knot seems to be loosening, but can she untie it fast enough? She hears the man beginning to reload his gun. Almost there! As the sound of the gun cocking reaches her ears, she feels a loosening in the knot as the rope begins flying through her hands!
WHIIIIIIIIIZ! CRASH! She turns around. Just as Amy suspected, the rope held the chandelier in place, or once did. Now the chandelier lies in a million pieces atop the older gentleman. Amy carefully picks her way to the center of the room. The man lies on his stomach, apparently unconscious. Amy takes a moment to look around. The sitting room is in a much more messy state than it was when she arrived. Hopefully she’ll be able to get Shannon and leave before someone finds her to bill her for the damages!
What should Amy do now?
