253. Return to the Sitting Room
Amy enter the sitting room, wondering if there might be something useful here for her to use. To her surprise, she finds the room filled with about half a dozen people, among them Colonel Elihu Tulkinghorn, the very same Colonel Elihu Tulkinghorn who not long ago tried to blast a fairly large hole in her.
“Madame! I say, madame!” the Colonel is addressing Amy from across the room. Amy isn't sure how to react. The Colonel makes his way purposefully across the room. When he reaches Amy, he bows, slightly.
“Madame, it is my great honor to make your acquaintance. I am Colonel Elihu Tulkinghorn, and I have traveled far to return a certain garment that you left behind on safari in the Punjab.” He rifles through his jacket pocket and is dismayed to find the article missing.
Amy suddenly feels a strange inclination to be polite to the man who so recently tried to extinguish her life. “At ease, Colonel. You need not worry; the garment was safely delivered to me and you received the full credit to which you are entitled.”
The Colonel seems abashed. He sputters a bit, then manages to form a coherent sentence, “Madame, I must insist that you join me for tea. I could regale you with some most interesting tales of my involvement in the First Sepoy Rebellion.
Should Amy join the Colonel for tea?
Graciously accept the Colonel's offer
Politely decline the offer and return to the Great Hallway
