79. The Upstairs
Amy decides to try heading upstairs again. She knows for sure now that Geoffrey Stephenson knows where Shannon is, or can at least provide clues to her whereabouts. But if Amy’s going to get to Mr. Stephenson, she’s going to have to get through Boswell first. Amy has a seat on the landing of the stairs and ponders her situation. How can she get past Boswell?
Once again, Amy finds her eyes drifting to the portrait of Lady Stephenson on the wall of the second floor above her. An idea that’s been niggling at the back of Amy’s mind for a while suddenly leaps to the forefront. “Maybe… Maybe I could disguise myself as Lady Stephenson. I DO kind of look like her… And Boswell seemed pretty taken with her. On the other hand, I’m not sure I’ve got the things I’ll need to make a convincing disguise yet. Hmmmm…”
