94. Plots Unfolding
The double doors swung open to reveal a wide open laboratory complete with tables of bubbling beakers and glass
tubes spiraling and funneling bubbling juices and unknown substances. At the heart of it all was another of Genesta's
little fairies chained to a dingy tabletop appearing haggard and weak.
Rosella threw caution to the wind at the sight of the betrothed little creature and ran toward her, crying out in concern.
The two exchanged greetings as the small fairy confessed she had heard rumors that the heroic princess had returned
to Tamir, but admitted she could not believe the wonderful news until now.
Looking at the strong chains that held the fairy captive, Rosella's brow furrowed in desperate thought until the fairy
directed her to a ring of keys that hung on the wall. As the princess retrieved the keys, she noticed something strange
and elaborate on one of the other tables. It was a large parchment that appeared to be a blueprint of sorts for the
castle. Touching the curling edge of the paper, the fairy cried out.
"There is no time, Princess. Great danger is imminent!"
Backing away from the ominous drawing, Rosella worked through the ring of keys until she found one that fit the lock of
little fairy's imprisonment.
"You must hurry, Rosella. The witch, Lolotte has taken my powers as well as those of my sisters, and I'm afraid she is
close to acquiring all the power she needs if she has not already!" cried the fairy in one fast breath.
Having heard this from the other fairies, Rosella was desperate to know what it was that Lolotte was planning. The
curiosity and confusion was evident on the princess's face.
"She will use her magic in conjunction with our own to bring a massive creature to life. A creature in this castle. It will
raze Tamir, and I fear even lands beyond the sea!"
The last words pinched Rosella's heart as she echoed the fairy's words, "lands beyond the sea..."
"Where in the castle is the creature, what is it?" fired the important questions at the little fairy.
"It's-" but her answer was cut off as the double doors burst open and the daring pirate Jafar, Captain of the Jade
Scimitar came bursting through, sword in hand.
"Milady! Danger approaches, and I need to get you out of here!"
"What!? Where's Night, and Knight?" asked Rosella as she looked behind him for any sign of his companions.
Seeming to ignore her tedious questions, he peered around the room with urgency, but seeing the deep concern on her
lovely face, gave the hurried Captain pause. "They're fine, lass. They'll meet up with us soon, but for now, we need to
get down that chute!" he said, indicating an opening in the wall.
"Down what?" asked Rosella suspicious of the small opening that appeared to be a laundry or trash chute of some kind.
Down the chute
No way!
