11. Dark Forest
Amy steels herself for the hike ahead and walks into the forest. As the canopy closes above her the darkness takes hold. She trips over a wayward root and stumbles forward, then stops to reassess her situation. It’s very dark here. She is likely to be eaten by a Grue. The only light she can see is a sliver of moonlight from the clearing where she left her car. She can still make her way back where she came from if she turns back now. If she goes on ahead, she’s not sure she’ll be able to find her way back until morning. On the other hand, the house can’t be that much farther, and the sooner she gets there the sooner she can leave for good.
