52. Back in the Lab

Amy wonders if she might find something useful down in the messy laboratory. She heads downstairs to check it out once again. She quickly gets frustrated combing through the unholy mess of the lab and is about to leave when she hears what sounds like a dog barking. Turning to find the source of the bark, she notices a small black cage in the corner. Inside is a little brown dog, maybe a foot tall, no more than a puppy. On closer inspection, though, Amy notices it has a strange facial structure. Its face is quite narrow, with wide eyes on the side, and the thing has an unusually tall, rounded snout.

“It's like it has a cab forward face,” Amy says to herself. “Ew.”

The puppy barks again, exposing what look like hundreds of razor-sharp teeth. Amy takes a look around for some sign of what this creature might be. She discovers a small hand-written note above the cage. The note reads: “Fred: remember to feed piranha pup three times a day, one leg mutton.”

The puppy looks up at Amy with its creepy eyes and mewls. It's probably time for a feeding and the dog is getting hungry. It's hard to resist puppy dog eyes, even with this dog's weird skull and Amy's generalized preference for cats. Still, those teeth give Amy pause.

What should Amy do?

Ignore the puppy and head back upstairs
