57. Eye Don’t Need This
Believing in the good of all things, even pathetic old hags, Rosella decided that she had no use for their glass eye. And
since they had provided a treasure of far greater value to her, it was the noble and hence “princess-y” thing to do.
Rosella rolled the glass sphere to the foot of the three blind witches, ending their endless wailing for “their precious
eye.” Shamelessly, they went back to their cooing. “Come… here… little girl.”
Rosella sneered and turned on her heel. “Yeah, right,” she replied knowing that no good would come of that. Bidding
the blind witches good luck, she left the skull cave for good, praying to never have to return to the eerie place. As she
made her way back through the scary forest, she thumbed the newly acquired scarab hanging around her neck. The
sickness it left in her stomach made her uneasy, but she was too afraid to remove it. Would it work? Not knowing was
almost more than she could bear. Between the mysterious dead fish key and now the scarab, she only had a few
remaining places to investigate in Tamir. Where would she go next?
