86. Easy Bake Oven

Rosella eased her way into the next room with a pleasant feeling of accomplishment.  She had just rescued one of
Genesta’s fairies and couldn’t help but feel a little heroic about the fact.  Finally she was seeing actual results in her
brave quest.  Looking around, she took in the newest surroundings.  Counter tops, pots, pans, large surfaced tables,
ovens, knife racks, and sinks.  It appeared that the princess had found the kitchen.  The implication of the word alone
was enough to make Rosella’s mouth water.  Her little stomach had been growling for sometime now, but she had
ignored it, knowing there was nothing she could do about it.  But here in a kitchen now, the natural instinct was
dominating her thoughts.

Rosella wandered over to the counter tops in search of something delicious to eat, but most of what she came across
was platters of rotten meat covered in flies and other unknown insects.  Making faces, she moved along, desperate to
find something edible in the visibly dingy kitchen.  Again and again she came across sour samples that only further
soured her appetite.

Finally after checking every cupboard high and low, the trays of the ovens, and lengths of the counter tops, Rosella
settled upon a delightful looking platter of muffins in the center of the room.  Holding her hand close to the pile, she
could feel the warmth emanating from the recently baked pastries.  Strangely enough there was no sign of the cook who
had prepared them, but this Rosella decided, was probably a good thing.  Hating the idea of stealing food that did not
belong to her, the princess realized this might be her only opportunity for nourishment, and the trembling in her limbs
lately had not all been from fear.  She was weakening and becoming tired.  The day had taken its toll on her slender
body.

Rosella could either give in to her natural temptation, or stubbornly maintain her dignity and go without.  What will she
do???
